We SUPPORT the MPS BOND

Jean Stothert

Omaha Mayor

"For more than 30 years, I have supported the Millard Public Schools as a Millard resident, parent, and former Board of Education member.  Now, my grandsons are Millard students.  We all want the best for our children.

The 2025 bond proposal will enhance building security for students and staff, and update and maintain school buildings to provide excellent learning environments, without increasing the school district’s property tax rate.

I urge you to join me and vote yes on this important bond issue.  Together, we can continue Millard’s history of excellence."

Aaron Hanson

Douglas County Sheriff

"In today's climate we have seen bad actors commit heinous acts at schools far too many times. Keeping our kids safe at school is an absolute necessity.

Millard's upcoming bond issue is a proactive approach that will make significant strides towards securing their school buildings and campuses. Additionally, the investment this bond makes in skilled trades will result in Millard's students being more prepared for the workforce, stronger kids, and a safer and more prosperous Douglas County.

I encourage all Millard voters to vote FOR the Millard Public Schools bond issue on or before February 11th."

Don Rowe

Omaha City Council District 5

"I support the Millard Public Schools' Bond issue, and encourage you to as well.  Throughout the years, Millard has been fiscally conservative with their spending and always had an eye for delivering a great education at a great value to the taxpayer.

In fact, the way that this bond is structured, it will be completely levy rate neutral, meaning Millard taxpayers will not see the levy increase in order for the school district to access these necessary funds. Plus this bond issue addresses only pressing needs that are facing the district, not the extra 'stuff'.  Millard's average building is over 40 years old, and it requires a little TLC at times to keep them in working order.

This bond will allow the district to keep their facilities and schools in working order for years to come.  Additionally, nearly half of the bond will go towards securing entrances at the 21 remaining schools that do not have them completely secured.  Just this week, Lincoln Public Schools saw a man with a knife enter one of their elementary schools.  Our kids need to be safe at school, and the funding from this bond will prevent issues like that from arising in Millard.

Please join me in voting FOR the Millard Public Schools Bond issue when you return your ballot.  Ballots were mailed out to all Millard voters on January 21st and should be arriving soon."
