ABOUT MILLARD'S SCHOOL BOND

Will my taxes go up?

​

No. The $158 million school bond will not increase the Millard Public Schools Tax Levy.

 

How will MPS use the bond?

 

$77M: School Safety and Security

  • Adding secured entry onto remaining 21 schools that are currently without it.

  • Completing transition to closed classrooms in remaining schools.

  • Updates to doors and locks.

  • Installation of new cameras.

 

$24M: Interior renovations

  • Paint

  • Ceilings

  • Floors

  • Code Updates  

 

$3M: Young Adult Program Space

  • Redesign building layout

  • Create usable education space  â€‹ 

 

$13M: Millard North High School

  • Additional multi-purpose space

  • Redesign Skills & Trades space  â€‹

 

$41M: Construction/Maintenance Projects

  • Strategic replacements of vital systems

  • Parking lots, HVAC, roofs

  • Millard's levy has consistently remained among the lowest in the metro.

  • Millard's average cost per student is the lowest in the State of Nebraska.

FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE

Revenue & Expenses - From 2011- 2021 Millard's revenue increased by an average of 1.1 % per year from property valuation adjustments. MPS did not raise taxes.
